Rory’s Story Cubes – Writing Exercise

9 cubes, 54 images, 10million+ combinations = infinite stories
My cubes rolled at lunch are: flower, question mark, u-shaped magnet, beetle/scarab, light bulb, bee, eye, flashlight, and phone.
Let’s see what I can make with those.
It wasn’t a question of whether or not the bee was attracted to the flower. That would always been a given according to the world’s law of nature. It wasn’t a question of my eye seeking out the light to make order of the world. I needed light to make sure I had seen what I thought I saw. Unfortunately there were no outdoor lamps or street posts nearby, and I hadn’t thought to bring a flashlight with me. What I thought I had saw was a scarab flying and hovering around a flower then scuttling across it to attack the bee that had taken up residence. Why would I even care? Because scarabs weren’t native to my home, even remotely. I knew before I could even get my cell phone out of my jeans pocket and use the camera flash on the back of the phone as a flashlight, that the scarab would be gone. Ah well, one of life’s little mysteries that I would probably never solve. I wasn’t that curious or inquisitive.
