Dreams are a sign of stress

Posted on | October 22, 2008 | No Comments

I finally convinced my dad that we didn’t need the heat turned on overnight, or at least pushed further down on the thermostat than it has been and last night I slept through the entire night with relative ease. I didn’t turn over and look at the clock, and for once in however many months I actually woke with the alarm and not before it.

As to the relative ease, no real dreaming until I’d say about an hour or two before my alarm clock would go off. Then of course my dreams, or should I call it more as a nightmare took a surreal turn. I dreamed about work and my co-workers. Not all of them and even then I’m not sure why I would be dreaming about the ones I did since I don’t interact with them on a daily basis.  I won’t go into details about the dream, because as time passes more and more of the dream fades from consciousness. It wasn’t a bad dream, just bizarre and of course with dreams in general one scenario fades into another and morphs and twists and you can’t remember where one ended and the other began.

I can’t be sure if the dreams are a sign of stress or if perhaps it’s just indigestion reeking havoc. Anyway, at least sleeping through the night is a step in the right direction, next would be to sleep through the night and not wake up with clenched fists and bad dreams.
