Time to burn some added baggage away
Decided to take the plunge so to speak and join a gym, which I did on Saturday. Got on a scale Saturday morning and had to shake my head in disgust. I’m almost 20 pounds heavier than this time last year, and that’s not a good thing.
It doesn’t help that everything is within striking distance at work, and that no one really seems inclined to take long walks at either break time or lunch time, and going by myself is disheartening. Though going to a gym by myself is just as bad, but at least it’s a more focused goal. I’ve been twice so far, last night my knees were killing me something fierce — all probably in thanks to using the elliptical machine for the first time in like years. Today I went and just used the treadmill for half an hour. I’m happy that the gym is open 24 hours a day during the week. Not that I’ll ever go in the middle of the night, but at least it’s there if I want to.
Of course, with exercise, I also need to look at my eating habits. That’s probably gonna be the harder of the two to adjust. I like my southern fried, greasy foods. Sighs. Time for WeightWatchers and SmartOne meals for lunch.
Charlene,
It’s great that you are taking the first step to getting back into shape. I applaud you. Keep it up and you will be back to where you want to be in no time.
In His Love,
Jaime
