Chark Tales That’s shark, with a ‘C’!

Strangely enough, a lot happened in July. Mostly hinging around the new laptop I got. I purchased it in mid-July and got it a week later. A day after its arrival I came down with a really miserable cold. Hates colds. So I had to leave all the troubling issues with my laptop to the ’side’ for the first few days. I ordered the new machine to come downgraded with XP Professional instead of Vista Business 64-Bit because I’ve always liked the speed and stability of XP. Well, let’s just say the laptop had some issues. After much diagnosing, I found that there were two things very much wrong with it:

1. The extra DDR2 ram I ordered was bad and caused the machine to blue screen on a regular basis
2. The printer suite of software was causing major hiccups with XP (like causing the device manager to disappear/reappear in 2 second intervals –wink in/wink out)

So reinstalled XP, got a new stick of ram overnighted — CDW rocks btw!, and got a basic set of drivers from the printer/scanner installed. So everything now is all good.

Beyond that, work is going well and life as we know it is not bad.

On a side note, I’ve joined Twitter so if anyone out there wants to follow my random 140 character postings throughout the day, I’m CharkR.

And on a completely separate tangent, is thinking she really really really needs to upgrade Wordpress. Gah, it’s all just screwed up on the back-end somehow without my even touching it. Is completely mystified why the visual editor panel has gone missing and one comment in moderation just won’t be deleted.
