Gaming – New Obsession

Trading one obsession for another. I gave up my hosting on the crops on Saturday and to replace it, I’ve taken up online gaming (board games) at Brettspielwelt (BSW). It’s a German gaming site that has the newest popular board games, like Settlers of Catan and Carcassonne (plus so many others) — it does cover everything in English (to a point).

We bought Carcassonne: The Big Box edition recently, along with the Games Quarterly magazine which had a 12 tile expansion as well for the regular base set (from RioGrande Games and not an official release from Hans im Glück) — after playing it for the second time at friends. So far the husband and I have played a handful of times, once with the Inns and Cathedrals expansion and once with just the river. I like playing with the Traders and Builders and Inns and Cathedrals, and I’m learning the rules and regs for the King and/or Scout expansion (which we don’t have yet, but I have played online through the BSW site.) Anyway, I can heartily recommend this game for just two players or even up to 5 (6 players if you have the Inns and Cathedrals expansion).
