Victoria Day Long Weekend

The predicted forecast for the weekend was just miserable, rainy, overcast and cold the entire time. But as with all things related to Edmonton and Alberta, the weather turned out much nicer than expected. Saturday was windy and cold, but still pleasant enough to get out in. Since I had resigned from my position as crop hostess, my mornings on Saturday are now free and the husband decided to treat each other to breakfast out. Afterwards, he even agreed to go shopping with me at Value Village (that lovely second hand store). He picked up a pair of blue jeans and I got three complete work outfits.

Sunday was mostly a lazy day, though I did get some weeding done. Nice to relax.

Monday was the busy day however. Husband and FiL wanted to rent a rototiller  to prep the area for the new trees we’ll be getting, unfortunately the two places we went to didn’t have what the two men were looking for. So instead we bought the supplies for marking off the new tree area, and lattice to go around the deck to keep animals out. I spent the time transplanting 5 shrubs because they were in the wrong area (too shady, they apparently needed full sun) and then planted 8 new hostas in our front planters.

I’m looking at getting a burning bush to put in place of the Summersweet I had to transplant to the back of the house.
