Bussing It… a writer’s moment

Before I started carpooling everyday with the husband, I took the bus to and from work, and I found that was absolutely the best time for me to get some writing done. I can’t be at my computer, and I’m trapped for about 30 to 45 minutes in one confined area with nothing better to do than either look out the window at the same scenery I’ve seen for the last 5 years or more, or eavesdrop on my fellow passengers. I’m never been into listening in to other people’s conversations. So I wrote.
I’ve missed those moment’s since carpooling, but today the husband had to be elsewhere in the city and he couldn’t take me to work, so I bussed it! And I had a moment to do some writing. I wrote a dribblet (Word of the Day) and the start of a short story. So this afternoon on my return home, I hope to tackle that short story again. I’ve missed writing in general; the winter blues always seem to effect me and that just makes it a vicious cycle.

I would kill for soem alone time like that! Just a few minutes each day to jot down ideas for stories. Maybe the occassional bus ride is just what you need!

Yeah, I wrote quite a bit back when I was riding the bus. Mass transit really makes for a relaxing commute between one place to another. Husband doesn’t seem to realize that I actually enjoy taking the bus, even if it means I have to spend more time in the commute, or leaving home earlier.
