Listless, from day to day
Energy seeps from my body
Lying here in a drifting state
Eyes unseeing as my mind disappears

Candid speaking in my mind
Mouth is open by nothing issues
I have been gagged by guilt.

Tumbling down a bottomless hole
Bruised by time and distance
The rocks are sharp words, cutting
My husband does not know when to stop

Mind disconnected from body
Soul disconnected from the world
Heart continues to beat, but no life is here.

***

Peace and tranquility are seeking
Reaching out and taking hold
Slipping through its illusive fingers
Chaos runs rampant in my soul.
