WOTD – April 26th, 2005: scintilla, euphonious, mutatinal
Posted on | April 26, 2005 | No Comments
scintilla: a tiny amount; a trace; a spark (noun)
euphonious: pleasing or sweet in sound (adj)
matutinal: relating to or occurring in the morning; early (adj)
I wake to a less than euphonious alarm clock, in the matutinal portion of the day. I make my way out of bed to start my daily regimen of showering, preparing my husband’s lunch and spending a moment of time for myself at the computer catching up on the late night emails that were delivered. In that quiet moment, I find myself having a scintilla of calm wash over me. I am alone and yet not. Family is just a step away, along with adoring, needy pets that will meow loudly for my attention. The day stills before stirring.
